KUWAIT: The Ministry of Education is contemplating the opening of a secondary religious institute for girls in the 10th zone. Informed MOE sources said the ministry listened to the demands of parents to open a second religious institute for girls as they were worried about the long commute their daughters have to go through when they go to the Qortuba institute.
The sources said the Education Ministry understood the demands and promised to study the opening of an institute near their residences either in the Mubarak Al-Kabeer or the Ahmadi governorate. The sources said Education Minister Nouriyah Al-Sabeeh is keen on the interest of the girls and asked to study this matter as soon as possible.
The sources said the number of students in Ahmadi and Mubarak Al-Kabeer governorates who are enrolled in the religious institute in Qurtuba is nearly 200, which allows the opening of a similar one close to their residences. The sources expected that a credit system school in Ahmadi will be used after its closure next year after the implementation of the unified system.
