Kuwait keeps pace with medical developments

AMMAN: Kuwait's Ambassador to Jordan Sheikh Faisal Al-Humoud Al-Malek Al-Sabah said yesterday his country was striving to improve the medical services through enhanced medical exchanges with Arab and foreign countries.
The Kuwaiti medical cadres do their utmost to keep up with the world's latest achievements in this domain," Sheikh Faisal said during his meeting with a visiting Kuwaiti medical delegation here.

He spoke highly of the high level of medical expertise of the Kuwaiti specialists and the great efforts being made by the Ministry of Health to further improve the healthcare system.

Meanwhile, Dr. Majeda Al-Qattan, chief of the delegation, said the delegation aimed to get acquainted with the achievements made by Jordan in the domain of medical research.

Dr. Al-Qattan, also rapporteur of the Medical License Equivalency Committee of the Ministry of Health, noted that the delegation is made up of consultants in various specializations.

The delegation includes consultant pediatrician and professor at the Faculty of Pediatrics of Kuwait Institute for Medical Specialization (KIMS) Dr. Qusai Al-Saleh, and professor at KIMS's Faculty of Surgery Adel Al-Khider, she pointed out.

The delegation visited, and met senior officials of, several prestigious medical institutions in the Kingdom of Jordan including the Jordan Medical Council (JMC), Jordan Medical Association (JMA) King Hussein Medical Center, Al-Bashir Hospital and the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Jordan.

The meetings, part of the medical exchanges between Kuwait and Jordan, focused on the regulations of the Jordanian medical institutions as well as their capacity building programs," Dr. Al-Qattan revealed.

The Jordanian side expressed understanding of Kuwait's requirements and readiness to cooperate with us in the fields of medical research, she said. She highly appreciated the training programs of the JMC.

On his part, chief of the Kuwaiti medical office in Amman Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Anzi said the diplomatic mission in Jordan in collaboration with the cultural center offered all necessary facilities to the.

He praised the hospitality of the Jordanian side which ensured the success of the delegation's visit. In similar statements to KUNA, JMC's Secretary-General Dr. Saleh Al-Qaderi said the two sides share the desire to enhance visit exchanges between their medical experts. They agreed to exchange exams and enhance the two-way accreditation of medical license, Al-Qaderi disclosed. --- KUNA
