KUWAIT: Three Kuwaitis who recently returned home from abroad have been confirmed as being infected with the Swine Flu (H1N1) virus, bringing the total number of cases in the country to 15, the Health Ministry announced yesterday. Ministry Spokesman Dr. Yousef Al-Nisf said that the lab tests confirmed that the three nationals were carrying the virus, adding that they had been referred to the Infectious Diseases Hospital and that those with whom they had come in contact with were also tested as a precaution

Six previously diagnosed cases have been discharged after making a full recovery, he noted. "There is no cause for concern, and the ministry has been keeping up with all developments since the very beginning and thus put an emergency plan in place to combat the pandemic," he said. Dr. Al-Nisf also noted that the vast majority of the people who have been infected around the world have already recovered, and that a vaccine was expected to be discovered by the end of the year.
