Published Date: October 26, 2008

KUWAIT: The Kuwaiti citizen ( M.A.) currently detained in Basra after crossing the borders entering Iraq recently called his family telling them that he was okay and that he was expected to be released within the coming few days, reported Al-Watan. Informed sources noted that the citizen assured his family that he was receiving good treatment from the Iraqi authorities who showed a great deal of consideration to his health conditions.

Call for resignation
KUWAIT: MP Dr Ali Al-Hajri slammed the government's silence towards the statements made by the Minister of Commerce and Industry Ahmed Baqer in which, according to Al-Hajri, Baqer tried to mislead the public opinion by describing bourse dealers as adventurers. Al-Hajri also called for both Baqer and Bourse Director Saleh Al-Falah to resign from their posts, which would be a good sign and proof that the government was actually trying to solve the crisis that would only get worse if they remained in office.

More rain forecast
KUWAIT: With rain showers occurring in dawn last Friday, weather expert Khaled Al-Jaman said that more clouds are forming and that they are expected to grow thicker starting Saturday (yesterday) providing more chances for more rain during the week, particularly during the night. Al-Jaman noted that the rain was caused by east southern winds that are heavily loaded with water vapor and which are expected to last until November 5. He pointed out that the high humidity levels were a good sign indicating the
nearness of rainy season. "This would help the soil become more coherent and solid which will avoid sandstorms, which Kuwait had witnessed last summer," he added.

Nationalization issue
KUWAIT: The Minister of Interior Sheikh Jaber Al-Khaled disclosed that the dossier of nationalizing the children of Kuwaiti women married to non-Kuwaitis has been referred to the Cabinet for approval. He said after the approval it will be submitted to the HH the Amir in order to issue an Amiri decree. He added that the dossier has been referred to the Cabinet after being reviewed and verified by the Ministry of Interior in accordance to standard regulations.
