Paris Hilton buys controversial Dwarf Cat

Published Date: March 28, 2007

Paris Hilton has bought a dwarf cat. The socialite, who owns a menagerie of pets, was seen clutching the miniature grey feline as she was exiting her car.  Although Paris, 26, is delighted with her new pussy, she has been slammed for purchasing the unusual cat because the specialist breed has numerous health problems. The cats are said not to be able to function like normal sized felines, and cannot jump properly because their bow legs are too short.  They can also break the bones in their limbs when landing because their legs aren't long enough to absorb the shock. Hollywood gossip writer Janet Charlton wrote on her website: "She's way off base with her mini-cat. She's got a cat that was bred to be a tiny dwarf and like most dwarves it has short bowed legs. "Breeding animals to be dwarfs or midgets is unethical and they usually have numerous health problems because of it. They're cute, but not healthy or able to function like a regular cat. For example these short legged cats can't jump like normal felines and might break bones because their legs aren't long enough to absorb the shock.  Plus they have internal problems. "But as long as wealthy people like Paris buy these pets, they will be produced by unscrupulous breeders. Paris should think about adopting her cats at a shelter." As well as her new cat, Paris also owns two Chihuahuas, a goat, a ferret and a kinkajou.

Rachel Weisz has branded thin women "unfeminine".  The British actress has urged Hollywood stars not to feel under pressure to diet, insisting women without curves are less feminine and not very attractive. Rachel said: "If you diet away your curves, you are dieting away your femininity. I enjoy dressing up, but you can do that without flagellating your body." The 36-year-old loved the attention her breasts received when she appeared in a low-cut gown at last year's Venice film festival. Rachel, who had given birth just three months earlier to son Henry, said:  "Luckily the empire line was in fashion. My breasts were still pretty huge and the dress just flowed, bypassing most of my body.  "So it was a great moment for me - I coincided with fashion in a good way." Rachel, who lives in New York with director Darren Aronofsky, says she loves Manhattan because she can enjoy a quiet life.  She explained: "I love Manhattan, it's an island full of immigrants. I can live a relatively normal life there. New Yorkers are always in too much of a rush to be star struck."

Mel C has finally confessed she did date Robbie Williams - but she couldn't "tame the beast". The former Spice Girl and Robbie were rumoured to have dated in the late-90s and have always refused to speak about it. But Mel has at last admitted they did romance one another but Robbie wasn't ready to settle down. She told Britain's Star magazine: "I've turned down so many people on this question. It was ten f***ing years ago and I'm still talking about it!  "It was nothing serious but we went on a couple of dates and it didn't really work out. It was just a chemistry thing really, sometimes there's not a major reason. He was busy travelling all over the world and so was I.  "At the end of the day, you're never going to get Robbie to settle down are you? You're never going to tame that beast!" Mel has also said she doesn't think Robbie will ever fully recover from his addiction problems. The 'I Want Candy' singer said: "I felt for him when he went to rehab.  "Robbie will have to deal with his demons forever, especially with something like addiction. "I'm not comparing myself to Robbie in any way, but I hope and pray that I wouldn't get depressed if my album didn't do well.  "I try really hard to get a balance in my life so that my career isn't the  only thing in it."

Jessica Simpson personally delivered a new minivan to a Mexican orphanage on Sunday (25.03.07). The 'Employee of the Month' star was greeted by cheers as she drove through the gates of Nuevo Laredo's Casa Hogar Elim orphanage in a white 2007 Chrysler Town and Country eight seat van and handed the keys to Mama Lupita, who runs the home. Jessica said "I'm so honoured and happy to help" as she hugged Mama Lupita and the throngs of excited children. A representative for the star said: "The kids were cheering when she pulled up. "They surrounded the car and were so excited to see her. They kept saying, 'Muchas gracias! Muchas gracias!' A few of them spoke English and said, 'We love you, Jessica!' " The children presented Jessica with gifts, including an engraved plaque with a photo of themselves and a handmade beaded necklace.  A mariachi band - which the kids had saved up to hire by selling jewellery they crafted themselves - serenaded Jessica. Laughing and putting her hand on her heart, she said: "What an amazing surprise!" Jessica was accompanied by her mother Tina and her manager father Joe.  The 26-year-old star won a sports car at a swag suite at last year's MTV Video Music Awards. She asked to swap it for a minivan so she could help the orphanage she first visited in 1999. Jessica is also auctioning the red dress she wears in her new Pizza Hut advert on eBay. All proceeds from the sale will go to Casa Hogar Elim.

Michael Jackson wants a giant robot of himself which shoots laser beams for his Las Vegas show. The 'Thriller' singer is reviewing plans for a 50 foot robotic replica should he decide to agree to a show in the casino capital. Mike Luckman of Luckman Van Pier, an entertainment consultancy firm, said: "It would be in the desert sands. Laser beams would shoot out of it so it would be the first thing people flying would see. Neon is wonderful, but it's old school." Luckman's partner, Andre Van Pier - who designed the spacesuits worn by U2 at their recent New Orleans fundraising concert - has designed Jackson's robot and also sketched out a stage set of a giant audience-interactive video game with human robots controlled by the audience. Luckman said: "Michael's looked at the sketches and likes them." The 'Earth Song' singer has reportedly bought a house in Las Vegas and has met with tourism officials and hotel owners to discuss the possibility of a long term show. Meanwhile, Jackson is currently working on his new album, which will include him rapping on some tracks. His representative Raymone Bain said: "He hasn't made up his mind about whether a Vegas show is in the cards for him.  "He's been in the studio since November working on his music. He's been presented with various proposals. A Vegas show isn't a priority.  "He's in Las Vegas now. He's pretty grounded in Vegas. It's very convenient for producers and songwriters to get to him. He's worked there before. He's been recording with producers Rodney Jerkins, will.i.am and Neffu." But Jackson is yet to secure a record deal. Bain said: "He's finalising distribution arrangements."

Hugh Grant and Jemima Khan have been on a date - sparking reports they have rekindled their romance. The pair enjoyed dinner together before returning to Hugh's West London home, where Jemima emerged smiling 90 minutes later at midnight.  A source said: "She seemed really pleased when she left. It was as if the evening had gone well." Hugh, 46, and heiress Jemima, 32, announced their split in February saying the separation was a "joint and amicable" decision.  Jemima was previously married to Indian cricket legend Imran Khan before she started dating the 'Music and Lyrics' actor in 2004.  Hugh's close friendship with his ex-lover Liz Hurley and his reluctance to marry Jemima reportedly put a strain on their relationship.  A source told Britain's Daily Mail newspaper: "There is absolutely no acrimony between Hugh and Jemima. There was no major falling-out when they split and definitely no third party involved which means there's absolutely no reason why they can't be friends. "They planned this reconciliation meal a couple of weeks ago. It was a chance for a catch-up and a giggle with no strings attached."

Bruce Willis was seen passionately kissing Courtney Love at his 52nd birthday celebration. Bruce - who partied at Sunset Boulevard's Roxy nightclub, in Los Angeles, last Monday (19.03.07) - was seen getting steamy with the 42-year-old rocker, the widow of Kurt Cobain. A source revealed: "They were full-on making out!" However, Courtney's representative insists the kiss was nothing more than a friendly embrace. He said: "Courtney was just giving Bruce a quick hello and then they went their separate ways." After the smooch, Bruce spent the rest of the evening partying with his friends. Revellers at the club had gathered to see British singer Amy Winehouse perform. Last month, Bruce rubbished claims he was a client of Hollywood madam Jody 'Babydol' Gibson. Gibson announced she was revealing the names of her famous clientele in autobiography 'Secrets of a Hollywood SuperMadam'.  In the Willis chapter, Gibson claimed the 'Die Hard' star ordered "five hot, young" prostitutes for a party. His attorney Marty Singer furiously dismissed the claims.  He said: "The story is a complete fabrication. Bruce Willis doesn't know this woman. He has never even spoken to her."

Kirsten Dunst has left the US to live with rocker Johnny Borrell, it has been claimed. The 'Spider-Man 3' actress has reportedly moved into the Razorlight frontman 's North London home. Kirsten, 24, watched her lover perform at London's Voice Of Slavery concert on Sunday (25.03.07), and the pair were later seen partying at North London pub The Hawley Arms. A source told Britain's The Sun newspaper: "This relationship is the real thing. She has been following him around like a lovesick puppy.  "She flew to Texas to join him at the SXSW festival then the band returned to Britain. But they hated being apart and on Friday she flew to London and is staying in his flat. "No one is sure how long she will be here for. She is filming in Europe soon so she could be in London a fair bit." Kirsten met Johnny earlier this month after she watched his band performing in Los Angeles. They were later seen kissing at the SXSW festival in Texas and dirty dancing at the Blender House party. Johnny, 26, reportedly finished his relationship with his long-term British girlfriend to be with Kirsten.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are planning an Easter Caribbean wedding, it has been reported. The Hollywood couple fell in love with the Dominican Republic during a recent holiday and have allegedly decided it is the perfect place for their nuptials. A source told Britain's OK! magazine: "While they were in the Dominican Republic, Brad bought a huge plot of land and helped design a fabulous house. "It's there they intend to become Mr and Mrs Pitt." Brad, 43, and Angelina, 31 - who have three adopted children, Pax Thien, Maddox and Zahara, and a daughter Shiloh together - are expected to fly out to the exotic country in the next two weeks and want the ceremony to be a "family affair". The source added: "Pax and Maddox are old enough to be page boys and it's always been Angie's dream that this wedding will be a true family affair." Brad recently ruled out getting married until "everyone else in the US who wants to be married is legally able". Angelina has also avoided the issue in the past saying: "We've both been married before so it's not marriage that necessarily kept some people together. We are legally bound to our children, not to each other, and I think that's the most important thing." Brad was previously married to Jennifer Aniston, their divorce was finalised in October 2005. Angelina has two failed marriages to Jonny Lee Miller and Billy Bob Thornton.

Keith Urban has flown halfway round the world to spend an afternoon with wife Nicole Kidman. The country singer finished a week-long Australian promotional tour for his new album and flew straight to Los Angeles to take his wife to the theatre.  A source told People magazine: "They were so pleased to see each other. They kissed and hugged throughout the whole show. "They've barely been married nine months. They're still honeymooners." Keith and Nicole, both 39, attended the opening performance of 'Distracted' starring Rita Wilson at the Mark Taper Forum.  Also in attendance were Wilson's husband Tom Hanks, and Hollywood director Steven Spielberg who was accompanied by his wife Kate Capshaw.  Alcoholic Keith completed a 90-day programme at the Betty Ford Clinic in January after he suffered a relapse. After his release from rehab, the singer accompanied Nicole on the red carpet throughout the awards season and they enjoyed a romantic holiday in St. Bart's.

Eminem and ex-wife Kim Mathers have agreed to stop publicly criticising each other. The rapper - real name Marshall Mathers - and Kim attended a closed court hearing at Detroit's Macomb Circuit Court yesterday (26.03.07) and agreed to stop making "derogatory, disparaging, inflammatory and otherwise negative comments". The agreement was made following a motion filed by Eminem last month to protect their 11-year-old daughter Hailie. Eminem's lawyer, Harvey Hauer, said: "We're happy the court was able to bring this matter to a just and equitable resolution." Kim's attorney, Michael J. Smith, said: "The decision was reached for the full benefit of the child. "They have to attempt to promote a good relationship and can't talk bad about each other to the child." Kim had publicly accused the rapper of "slacking very much" with regard to his parental responsibilities and claimed there is "nothing positive" between him and Hailie. In February, she appeared on Detroit's Wkqi-FM's 'Mojo In The Morning' radio show where she revealed intimate details about their relationship.  She said: "I can't stand him. He's an absolutely horrible person, and he gets worse every day. I vomit in my mouth whenever I'm around him or I hear his name." She also described sex with her ex-husband as "bad" saying, "He's not very well endowed." Kim added: "If you're going to have sex with Marshall, make sure you have a little blue pill (Viagra), because otherwise it does not work." The couple first married in 1999 but divorced two years later. They remarried in January 2006 and Eminem filed for divorce in April of that year. The divorce was finalised in December. The couple also have custody of Hailie's cousin Alaina.

Noel Gallagher dedicated a song to his pregnant girlfriend at his Teenage Cancer Trust charity concert last night (26.03.07).  The Oasis guitarist spoke affectionately about long-term love Sara MacDonald, who is four months pregnant, before introducing classic song 'Slide Away'. He said: "I'd like to dedicate this next song to my lovely Mrs, Sara." Earlier in the evening, Noel was joined by friend Paul Weller at the special acoustic show at London's famous Royal Albert Hall.  Noel - who has performed at the annual fundraising concert on a number of occasions - said: "So, as it's the Teenage Cancer Trust and as it's the Albert Hall, I'd like to introduce, somewhat predictably, Paul Weller." The pair, accompanied by Oasis guitarist Gem Archer and percussionist Terry Kirkbride, then launched into a version of The Jam's 'Butterfly Collector', to the delight of the sell-out crowd, followed by a cover of The Beatles' classic 'All You Need Is Love'. Noel opened his show with a selection of Oasis B-sides, including '(It's Good) To Be Free' and 'Fade Away', which was included on the 1994 hit single 'Cigarettes and Alcohol'. The musician was joined for the second-half of the show by an all-female string orchestra. He then treated fans to a version of the rarely played 'Don't Go Away', taken from Oasis' third album 'Be Here Now'.  Noel was in good spirits and joked with the crowd throughout the night.  Before playing 'Wonderwall', he responded to chants for his brother Liam, by saying: "Unfortunately Liam can't be here tonight. I did ask him to come down but the words f**k and charity followed in the same sentence." He closed the show with a cover of The Smiths song 'There Is A Light That Never Goes Out', 'Don't Look Back in Anger' and 'Married With Children'.  As the crowd started to make their way out, Noel surprisingly strolled back on stage to cover The Beatles' 'Strawberry Fields'.  Scottish rockers The View and Liverpool band Shack both provided support on the night. Noel plays his second charity show at the Royal Albert Hall tonight
(27.03.07).

Victoria Beckham and Katie Holmes are to launch a children's clothing line.  The pair, who have bonded over their love of fashion and motherhood, are planning to combine their skills and passions by designing their own range for children. A source told Britain's Daily Express newspaper: "They are both really excited about this new project. Katie recently sketched out some designs for a party dress for Suri's first birthday and Victoria saw there was the potential there for the two of them to come up with some great designs.  "As they are both mothers who love fashion, it couldn't have been more ideal for them." Victoria, 32 - who is mother to sons Brooklyn, eight, Romeo, six, and Cruz, two - already has her own jeans and designer sunglasses range.  Katie, 27, and husband Tom Cruise's daughter, Suri, will turn one next month. Since Victoria and David announced their upcoming move to Los Angeles, Victoria and former 'Dawson's Creek' star Katie have become very close, attending fashion events together.

Keith Urban wants to have a child with wife Nicole Kidman.  The country singer - who is stepfather to Nicole's adopted children Isabella, 14, and Connor, 12, from her marriage to Tom Cruise - says he is desperate to have his own children. Keith told Britain's Sunday Telegraph newspaper: "I don't get to see the kids as much as probably a lot of stepdads would, but it is a good relationship. "I am looking forward to fatherhood. I have always wanted to be a good dad.  My brother's got two kids and he's an excellent dad and I think we both have that sense of being home and being solid family guys." The 39-year-old has also taken a thinly-veiled swipe at Tom and his new wife Katie Holmes for seeking publicity. Keith said: "If we were plastered in the magazines all the time and sort of got pictures willingly, it would wear off and probably people wouldn't want them so much. "I would just rather have a more quiet life, like we do. It is relatively quiet compared to most, I think." The former cocaine and alcohol addict was released from rehab in January and has just completed a one week tour of Australia to promote his new album.  He has just flown back to join Nicole in Los Angeles.

Quentin Tarantino bit Black Eyed Peas singer Fergie while rehearsing for his new movie. The cult film director got carried away while preparing for a violent scene he shares with the 31-year-old singer in his horror movie 'Grindhouse' and sunk his teeth into her arm. She said: "He came to the set and ran lines with me. In one scene Quentin got really into the character and bit me." Fergie insists she will cherish the experience and even took a picture of the teeth marks. She added: "My manager has it on his camera. I'm not going to sue him or anything, but I wanted documentation. It was crazy cool." 'Grindhouse' is two full-length horror movies presented back-to-back. One is a slasher film with Tarantino at the helm called 'Death Proof', and the other is a zombie film written and directed by Robert Rodriguez entitled 'Planet Terror'.

Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio are set to team up again.  The pair will be reunited after their 'The Departed' Oscar success on new film 'The Wolf of Wall Street'. DiCaprio will play Jordan Belfort, in the true-life story of a corrupt Wall Street stockbroker sentenced to four years in prison and fined $110 million before turning government witness. The film will be adapted from Belfort's autobiography, who is still $75 million in debt. The Hollywood pair worked together on gangster film 'The Departed', which earned Scorsese the 2006 Academy Award for Best Director.  They also collaborated on box office hits 'The Aviator' and 'Gangs Of New York'. It is unclear when production will begin as both Scorsese and DiCaprio have numerous projects already lined up. DiCaprio will spend the summer shooting 'Revolutionary Road' with Kate Winslet. Scorsese is directing a documentary spanning the career of The Rolling Stones and an adaptation of children's book 'The Invention of Hugo Cabret'.  Scorsese and DiCaprio are also due to work together on biopic 'The Rise of Theodore Roosevelt'.
