MP slams govt's incapability

Published Date: October 09, 2008

KUWAIT: MP Ali Al-Deqbasi voiced his support at a proposal submitted by the Popular Action Bloc for granting the Kuwaiti nationality to all those who participated in the war to liberate Kuwait. The proposal also recommended granting nationalities to the families of martyrs as well as bedoon military men who fought alongside Kuwaitis in the 1967 and 1973 Arab wars.

He urged all MPs to support the initiative in an attempt to overrule the government's injustice against these deserving people. He said he is well aware of the fact that the issues concerning bedoons are complicated, but added that it does not mean the government has any right to ignore their problems.

He urged the government to implement a clear strategy in tackling their issues in its immediate program and ensure they are implemented within the current month, reported Al-Watan. He also slammed the government's incapability of setting up a clear and transparent agenda in general.
