Women's housing problems

KUWAIT: The Public Authority for Housing Welfare (PAHW) has announced that it has concluded work on draft proposals to resolve divorced and widowed Kuwaiti women's housing problems within the framework of the country's housing laws. PAHW Deputy Director Subi Yousuf Al-Mulla said that the authority's management committee recently met with Housing Minister Dr. Moudi Al-Humoud to discuss the problem and possible solutions, reported Al Nahar. He added that the committee has put forward a number of proposals to
resolve these women's housing problems. All these proposals will now be forwarded to the relevant committees for further study and will then be submitted to the minister, along with any additional recommendations, to enable him to take the appropriate decisions.

High school exams
KUWAIT: Ministry of Education Undersecretary Tamador Al-Sdeerawi has approved the timetable and locations for September's high school exams (second term) for both Science and Arts subjects. All exams are scheduled to start on 3rd September and finish on 9th September, reported Al Anbaa.

Call to protect citizens
KUWAIT: The Municipal Council member Majid Mousa addressed a letter to MP Adel Al-Saraawi and requested him to protect Kuwaiti citizens residing at Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh. Mousa remarked that the area was safer during the Iraqi invasion time and urged Al-Saraawi to implement an effective law to contain other instances of aggression, reported Al-Nahar. He reminded that the Al-Saarawi was in a better position to wield influence when compared to other Municipal Council members.

Al-Barrak condemns govt's inaction
KUWAIT: MP Musallam Al-Barrak accused the government of aggravating the cleaning laborers' misery. He argued that suspending work permits only helps visa racketeers and the influential to thrive. Speaking to reporters, he pointed out that the mass protests highlight the government's inadequacy in terms of exercising control over the volatile situation, reported Al-Nahar.
