KUWAIT: Temperatures in Kuwait will continue to fall and a new wave of frost will reach the country soon, said meteorologist Issa Ramadan yesterday.
Ramadan said that this forecast was based on the advancing northwesterly wind, driven by a low Cypriot front.
He said that the weather would be cloudy with a slight chance of rain in Kuwait and Saudi Arabia, adding that heavy rain would fall on Iraq, Syria, UAE, Oman and Iran today and tomorrow.
The meteorologist added that cold weather would continue, saying that the strong northwesterly wind was expected to raise dust in desert areas, where the temperature is expected to fall below zero.
Ramadan said that similar weather patterns would affect Syria, Iraq and Saudi Arabia, principally in the northern areas, warning both campers and farmers of the need to take all the necessary precautionary measures.
Earlier this year, Kuwait recorded its lowest temperature this winter, with temperatures falling to minus five degrees Celsius in some desert areas. - KUNA
