KUWAIT: The Minister of Interior Sheikh Jaber Al-Khaled Al-Sabah announced that he has created a new project which will focus on developing the different sectors of the Interior Ministry. Sheikh Jaber Al-Khaled indicated that the project, which is entitled "No to centralization, yes to the teamwork", will aim at developing security issues and activating the role of local mayors in order to revive the features of the old Kuwaiti society. "Reviving the roles of mayors is a good move given that they can manag
e their areas better and can coordinate with the citizens of their areas in a more focused and personal level," Sheikh Jaber Al-Khaled said.
The minister also noted that another aim of the project is for the ministry to cancel the current system of investigation departments and return investigators to police stations. Meanwhile, political activist Khalid Al-Namshan expressed his disappointment with Kuwait's new government as the new government was not formed by factual and fair standards. According to Al-Namshan, creating a good relationship between the two authorities will be difficult as the prime minister recently appointed controversial min
isters who have created discord between the two authorities.
He also noted that the National Assembly was not pleased with the new line up of ministers and was also dissatisfied with how the new government was formed.
Al-Namshan affirmed that the current government will not be able to achieve the ambitions of the Kuwaiti people and he expects that the National Assembly will be dissolved again in the future under the pretext of non-cooperation between the National Assembly and the government. He also expressed his fear that the next dissolve will be done in a non-constitutional manner.
