KUWAIT: Students from Kuwait and their families had the unique opportunity to talk about educational opportunities in the United States with recruiters from 19 American colleges and universities. The event was held on March 11 at the Marina Crescent Hotel in Salmiya.

The three-hour educational fair was organized by the US Educational Fair Group in partnership with AMIDEAST and the American Embassy. Recruiters were present to promote study at their respective institutions and to provide information about degree programs, admission standards and financial aid opportunities. American Embassy Consular staff were present to answer students' and parents' questions about studying in the US and to provide visa information.

The American Embassy Charge d'Affaires Alan Misenheimer visited the fair where he met with American recruiters and spoke to potential students from Kuwait and their families. "The fact that these representatives have traveled so far to be here tonight is a clear demonstration of the high interest that American colleges and universities have in attracting Arab and Muslim students to their campuses," he said. "Kuwaiti students and their parents should know that they will be welcomed in the United States,
he added.

The American institutions represented at the fair were- California State University, San Marcos; Dubai Aerospace Enterprise University; Fairleigh Dickinson University, New Jersey; Florida Institute of Technology; Ohio State University; Oklahoma State University; Roger Williams University, Rhode Island; Monterey Institute of International Studies (Graduate School); Pennsylvania State University; Purdue University, Indiana; Savannah College of Art and Design, Georgia; State University of New York, Plattsburg
h; University at Buffalo, The State University of New York; University of Central Florida; The University of Kansas; The University of Kentucky; The University of Oregon; West Virginia University; and Virginia Commonwealth University.

These institutions highlight the diversity of educational options available in the United States as they offer hundreds of degree program options. They share the goal of recruiting Kuwaiti students to study on their campuses.
